Join multi award-winning sports photographer and Founder of Tennis Head Magazine Mike Frey, Chief Photographer at Australian Associated Press Dean Lewins, and freelance photographer and photojournalist Morgan Sette as they share their experiences shooting on assignment for some of the world’s biggest sporting tournaments. Hear how they capture unique perspectives of athletes, understand their workflow and get an insight into how the Z 9 performed in a real-world scenario.

Hear from Frances, Tracey and Kelly as they delve into their professional careers, touching on the highs and lows. Having recently shot with the Z 9, hear their thoughts and first impressions as they share their work and reflect on their careers this International Women’s Day.

In the Wild

Join Nikon Z Creators and multi-award winning wildlife photographers, Charles Davis and Jake Wilton for a special session that will take you from Australia’s alpine region to remote parts of Western Australia. Hear from Charles and Jake as they discuss how they capture some of Australia’s most rare and unique wildlife species. Having just tested the Z 9, understand how it performed in nature’s conditions, and get an insight into how it will redefine their workflow.

Changing Tides

Join internationally acclaimed creative, Trent Mitchell and dive head first into his unique connection with land and sea. Best known for his water photography, Trent’s unique perspectives have captured audiences around the world. Be inspired as Trent takes you through his photography journey; from the Nikon FM2 to the Z 9. As one of the first people in the world to test how the Z 9 performs underwater, this session will not disappoint.

Join Adrian Bloink, National Training Manager for Nikon Australia for a product talk that will take you through the techs and specs of the new Nikon Z 9. Equipped with Nikon and world firsts, Adrian’s product talk will take you through the features included in this ground-breaking technology, and further explain what they mean for different shooting scenarios.

Please note that this is a product talk on the Z 9 and not a hands-on experience or a how-to guide on the product.

Frances Andrijich

Frances Andrijich’s award-winning images have earned her a growing national and international reputation. That said, Frances’ heart lies in Western Australia and she has a passion for capturing the people and the places they live in. Shooting intuitively and incisively, Frances’ photographs can be lush and painterly; or witty and surprising. Her portfolio is diverse, grown out of her ability to be versatile, and her desire for the extraordinary. Frances has also published eleven books and is a contributing photographer to 4 other books.

Charles Davis

Acclaimed multi-award-winning photographer and Nikon Z Creator, Charles Davis, captures images that make you long for misty alpine mornings, snow-capped mountains and Australian wilderness steeped in natural history. His work is a rare insight into Australia’s shy, and beautiful creatures as you may have never seen them before.

Mike Frey

Mike Frey is an award-winning sports photographer, who has shot numerous sports and top flite sporting events over a twenty-five-year photographic career. Mike started his career shooting motorcycles and cars for magazines and newspapers and then shot premier league football in London, before concentrating on the endless summer of tennis photography. Mike now spends most of each year covering the professional tennis tour, but still finds time for international cricket, F1 and Moto GP, international and professional soccer and golf.

Dean Lewins

Dean Lewins is a photographer at the Australian Associated Press and has also worked for NBCnews.com, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Guardian, The Australian, Time. In 2018, Dean was named Nikon-Walkley Press Photographer of the Year. He has covered numerous sporting events, including the Commonwealth Games, the FIFA World Cup, the Australian Open tennis tournament, the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race and the Ashes. Dean has also covered unforgettable moments, including the funeral of AC/DC founder Malcolm Young when his brother and co-founder Angus Young carried Malcolm’s prized Gretsch guitar.

Trent Mitchell

Australian award-winning photographer Trent Mitchell, who has been making photographs for more than 20 years, started his photography career in 2007. On both personal and assigned projects, Trent has a narrative approach to his work, focusing on the environment in the broadest possible sense. Best known for his water photography, he also has an individual take on the manmade world, often wryly observing our attempts to elevate it above that of the natural one. Working across digital and film, in both black and white and colour, Trent has received wide recognition internationally. He won the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize in 2015, and has been a finalist for the award over a number of years. He has also been featured in, among others, the International Photography Awards, Sony World Photography Awards, Nikon Surf Photographer of the Year, Head On and Australian Life Photographic Prize. His work has been acquired for many public and private collections, including the National Library of Australia.

Tracey Nearmy

An established photographer and videographer, Tracey has worked for numerous publications throughout Australia and overseas over the past 20 years. She is currently based in Canberra working with the Multimedia team at ANU, and specialises in editorial and sports, as well as works with clients in the disability sector and NGOs. Tracey is a member of Australian photojournalism collective fotostrada and AUSWIP.

Morgan Sette

Morgan Sette is a photographer and creative industry professional based in Adelaide. Completing a photojournalism cadetship with AAP led her to freelance for news, current affairs and major events across a range of agencies (like Reuters, News Ltd, AFP). Her  roots lie in music and lifestyle photography, which has landed her some sweet photography gigs for a stack of reputable arts organisations, individuals and brands. 2022 is looking good, with mostly time put away for Tourism Australia. Currently, Morgan is keeping herself busy by working as a freelance  photojournalist as well as freelancing in photography, videography and creative direction and operating her own creative commune and photography studio, Upstairs Studio.

Kelly Tunney

Wedding photographer and Nikon Ambassador, Kelly Tunney is known for her candid, honest, fearless and warm imagery. Kelly is a Master of Photography with three gold bars, and many  accolades to her name including AIPP ACT Wedding Photographer of the Year and NZIPP International Photographer of the Year.

Jake Wilton

Jake is a professional photographer and Nikon Z Creator based on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia. Jake has over a decade of experience in the dive industry working as a Dive Master and Instructor, logging thousands of dives and developing his knowledge of the ocean. Since being based in Coral Bay, Jake has developed a passion for free diving and underwater photography whilst working with some of the ocean's most incredible wildlife and coral reefs.
