HN-2 Lens Hood (52mm Screw-In) for 28mm f/2.8 D-AF, 35-70mm f/3.3-4.5, 24-70mm f/3.5-5.6 IX Lenses. Optional Screw-in lens hood for select NIKKOR lenses. Use of specifically engineered Nikon lens hoods is highly recommended. By reducing the amount of non-essential light falling onto the front lens element, lenses can better achieve their optimum optical performance, producing more saturated images. In less-than-ideal lighting conditions, the performance difference can be substantial.
